Keyboard Feng Shui

Warning! Mega-Geeky Rant to Follow.

I understand progress but change for the sake of change is not necessarily progress. I'm shopping for a bluetooth keyboard mouse combo, not a all in one interactive wireless extravaganza that bakes, broils, roasts and has flashy battery eating lights with 22's and spinners.

I want a keyboard to be a keyboard!

Most people do not need 14 programable buttons to check their email, buy stuff on ebay, or play solitaire. If I'm playing a game that could benefit from programable function keys....shocker....I'll go out and buy one that has them. Don't force them on me just to add the perception of a cool new feature I don't need and by all means don't change the placement of any of the "regular" buttons just to cram your questionable buttons on to a rapidly shrinking peice of real estate. Most people, even hunt and peck typist's like myself, navigate the keyboard by some sense of feel and space perception, ever sat down at someones desk that had an "ergonomic" keyboard? More over if you're going to mess with button placement DON'T move/reshape one of the most used keys, for example the DELETE key.
